A new era of Kentucky Basketball is upon us. John Caliparihas left Lexington after 15 seasons to become the next head coach at Arkansas and Mark Pope, former UK national championship winning center and head coach of BYU is now the Wildcats leader.

With a coaching change comes heavy transfer portal action.

What to know:After playing limited minutes as a freshman averaging just 2.3 points per game with 1.9 rebounds, Thiero put on 22 pounds and even grew two inches helping him become the Wildcats most physical player this past season. He missed eight games due to injury but when healthy played in 25 games and started 19 in which he averaged 7.2 points per game, 5.o rebounds, 1.1 blocks and 1.1 assists. He shot49.2 percent from the field and 31.8 percent from three and became the Cats most reliable lob threat.

What to know:The 7-foot-1 forward was a five-star prospect and McDonald's All-American out of Camden High School in 2023, teaming up with high school teammateD.J. Wagnerin Lexington to help make up the Cats top-ranked class. Bradshaw was expected to be a one-and-done and a 2024 NBA Draft lottery pick but instead had a rough freshman year in Lexington. He suffered a fractured foot over the offseason which forced him to miss the first seven games of the season. Bradshaw returned Dec. 2 against UNC-Wilmington, and in his second game as a Wildcat, he logged a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds in Philadelphia against Penn. From there, he entered the starting lineup for 10 games and hit a game-winning three at Florida to open SEC play, but eventually was moved back to a bench role after struggling to stay out of foul trouble and not being able to provide UK with the same level of rim protection as fellow seven-footerUgonna Onyenso. Overall, he averaged 4.9 points per game, 3.3 rebounds and 0.7 blocks per game while shooting 57.6 percent from the field, 28.6 percent from three and 56.8 percent from the free throw line in 26 games and 10 starts.

What to know:Hart initially signed withUCFbut later requested a release from his national letter of intent and, on June 23 of 2023, joined the Wildcats as a three-star prospect ranked the country's 199th best prospect, 30th best shooting guard and the eighth best prospect from the state of Indiana per the 247sports' composite rankings. By signing with the Wildcats, he became the seventh member of the Cats No. 1 ranked 2023 class. The Linton, Indiana native played in a very limited role off the bench for the Wildcats this season, appearing in just seven games in which he scored a total of three points and did not log any other stats. His lone bucket came in UK's win overMarshallas he hit a late three to give Kentucky 118 points on the night, the most points scored in a single game of the Calipari era. Since he played less than 10 minutes this past season, Hart preserved a redshirt year and will have four years of remaining eligibility at his next school.

What to know:The Croatia native who played professionally overseas with SC Derby in Podgorica, Montenegro, from 2020-23, signed with Kentucky in August 2023. However, as the Kentucky athletics department worked to get him admitted into the University, he did not arrive or enroll in classes at UK until October. Ivisic was forced to miss the 16 games of the season as he awaited clearance from the NCAA before being cleared hours before UK's Jan. 20 home game against Georgia. The 20-year-old freshman had a magical Wildcat debut scoring 13 points, went 3-for-4 from three, grabbed five rebounds, blocked two shots, dished two assists including a behind-the-back pass toAntonio Reevesfor a three and picked up a steal. From there, he had a few other standout performances, including going for 18 points and grabbing five rebounds in a win overAlabama, but overall offered just modest production off the bench as he struggled mightily on the defensive end. He finished the year averaging 5.5 points per game with 3.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting 57.7 percent from the field, 37.5 percent from three and 77.3 percent from the free throw line.

What to know: Wagner was voted to the SEC All-Freshman Team by the league's coaches after averaging 9.9 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in 25.8 minutes while starting 28 of 29 games for the Wildcats this season, shooting 40.5% from the floor, 29.2% from 3-point range, and 76.6% from the free throw line. He was named SEC Freshman of the Week three times. Despite missing five games with a high-ankle sprain, Wagner recorded 13 double-digit scoring games, including 22 in an overtime win over St. Joe's, a career-high 28 vs. Marshall, 18 at Texas A&M, 18 points and a career-high 10 assists vs. Georgia, and 19 points vs. Arkansas. Coming out of Camden High School in New Jersey, Wagner was ranked as the No. 6 overall prospect in the 2023 class by the industry average 247Sports Composite and was once projected as a top 10 pick prior to the start of the 2023-24 season. He was a McDonald's All-American selection. His father, Dajuan Wagner, was Calipari's first one-and-done at Memphis in 2002. Per 247sports' Travis Branham, "Wagner's options will be completely open upon hitting the portal market and also plans to meet with new Kentucky head coachMark Pope. Along with weighing his transfer options, Wagner will also weighing the options to enter the 2024 NBA Draft but a decision on whether to enter remains "to be determined."

What to know: Joe Tipton of On3 reportsKentucky has joined the long list of schools that have reached out tothe Rutgers transfer. However the report came before Calipari left for Arkansas. His first visit will be to St. John's per multiple reports.Kentucky offered Omoruyi out of Roselle Catholic in Roselle, New Jersey, while the 6-foot-11 center was a four-star high school prospect. Despite a heavy pursuit from the Wildcats, Omoruyi decided to stay in the Garden State and play at Rutgers. As a true freshman during the 2020-21 season, he played in all 23 games during the COVID-shortened season, averaging 3.8 points and 3.9 rebounds. The following year, as a sophom*ore, he earned honorable All-Big Ten mentions after averaging 11.9 points per game, 7.8 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game. During his junior season of 2022-23, he selected to the First-Team All-Big Ten Defensive team and to the Second-Team All-Big Ten team after averaging 13.2 points per game, 8.3 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game. This past season, he averaged 10.4 points per game, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks per game, earning Big Ten All-Defensive team honors for a second straight year. Overall Omoruyi has averaged 10.3 points per game during his college career along with 7.7 rebounds, 1.8 blocks while shooting 54.9 percent from the field.He ranks sixth in Rutgers program history in blocks (221) and fourth in rebounds (933).

The forward heard from UK before Calipari's departure for Arkansas. He has also declared for the NBA Draft while maintaining his college eligibility. The 6-foot-6, 200-pound guard began his college career at Dodge City Community College in Dodge City, Kansas, where he posted a freshman 2021-22 campaign in which he averaged 13.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game while shooting 44.3 percent from the floor and 37.1 percent from three. Freeman transferred to Milwaukee ahead of the 2022-23 season and made an immediate impact as he averaged 18.2 points per game with 5.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game while shooting 40.6 percent from the field and 33.6 percent from three, earning Second Team All-Horizon League honors. He was even better this past season for the Panthers averaging 21.1 points per game while adding 6.6 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.1 steals. The 6-foot-6 guard shot 42.2 percent from the field and 35.1 percent from three as he earned Second Team All-Horizon League honors for a second straight season.

Borzello's report came before Calipari's departure for Arkansas. He hit the transfer portal ahead of his sophom*ore season and landed at Stetson, where he found immediate success. In his debut season with the Hatters, he started 27 of 31 games, playing 28.9 minutes per game. He averaged 15.4 points per game, 2.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists while shooting 41.4 percent from the field, 33.6 percent from three, and 91.2 percent from the free-throw line. He was named an All-ASUN First Team honoree and won the ASUN Newcomer of the Year award. This past season, he started all 35 games for the Hatters and once again earned All-ASUN First Team honors as he averaged 21.3 points per game, 2.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists while shooting 42.8 percent from the field, 38.1 percent from three and 90.7 percent from the free throw line. He led the Hatters to an ASUN Tournament title and NCAA Tournament berth as the team earned a No. 16 seed and fell to UCONN in the Round of 64. If he were to sign on at UK, he'd give Kentucky two straight seasons with a legacy player (Reed Sheppard) as his father James played for the Wildcats from 1983-87 under Joe. B Hall and Eddie Sutton, scoring 866 points in his Wildcat career.

What to know:247 sports national basketball analyst Travis Branhamreports that Kentucky, Illinois and Ole Miss have been the schools "most closely connected" to Storr, while Texas and Kansas are also involved. While Branham reports Kentucky is among those most involved, Illinois appears to be the favorite to land Storr, who it defeated in the Big Ten Championship game this past season, as 247sports' Michigan State insider Justin Thind has placed a crystal ball projected for the Fighting Illini to land the prized transfer. Kentucky's heavy involvement was reported before Calipari's departure for Arkansas. A 6-foot-7 guard, Storr started his college career at St. John's, where, as a freshman during the 2022-23 season, he averaged 8.8 points per game and 1.9 rebounds while shooting 43.4 percent from the field and 40.4 percent from three. The season earned him All-Big East Freshman team honors. Following the firing of head coach Mike Anderson, the Rockford, Illinois native transferred to Wisconsin, where he had a stellar sophom*ore season. Storr led Wisconsin to the NCAA Tournament as he averaged a team-high 16.8 points per game while adding 3.9 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 0.6 steals per game. He shot 43.4 percent from the field for a second straight year and shot 32.0 percent from three. The Illinois native earned second-team All-Big Ten honors.

What to know: Williams, a 6-foot-10 forward, will be a fifth-year senior and has one year of eligibility remaining. He currently ranks as the 53rd best player in the transfer portal and as the 12th best center. He will visit Pope's former UK head coachRick Pitinoand St. John's Sunday April 14. The England born Williams played just 4.0 minutes per game off the bench for Drexel as a true freshman during the 2020-21 season but saw his role increase as a sophom*ore as in 28 games and 17 starts, he averaged 9.5 points per game, 7.3 rebounds, 2.0 blocks, 1.1 assists, shot 52.1 percent from the field and 50.0 percent from three on six attempts as he was named the Coastal Athletic Association defensive player of the year and was a third-team All-conference selection. As a junior during the 2022-23 season, he started all 30 games for the Dragons, averaging 13.7 points per game, 8.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.2 blocks and 1.4 steals while shooting 52.3 percent from the field. He was once again named the CAA Defensive Player of the Year, becoming the second player in school history to win the award in back-to-back years. This past season, he started all 32 games for Drexel averaging 12.2 points per game, 7.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.8 blocks and 0.8 steals. He shot 51.9 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from three. Williams was named the CAA's defensive player of the year for the third straight year becoming the first ever in conference history to do so while also earning first-team All-conference honors.

Khalifa, a 6-foot-11 forward, is one of the country's elite passing big-men. He started his college career at Charlotte, where, as a freshman, he averaged 7.6 points per game, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists while shooting 47.1 percent from the field and 35.1 percent from three as he earned Conference-USA Freshman of the Year award honors and All-CUSA All-Freshman team honors. As a sophom*ore with the 49ers, Khalifa averaged 11.7 points per game, 6.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists while shooting 51.1 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from three. Khalifa transferred to BYU for the 2023-24 season and played in 29 games, starting 25. He averaged 5.7 points per game, ranked second on the team with 4.0 assists per game, along with 3.7 rebounds. He shot 38.6 percent from the field, 31.5 percent from three and 62.1 percent from the free throw line. The 6-foot-11 forward told On3's Joe Tipton he would either transfer to Kentucky, Louisville, or stay at BYU.

What to know: Small, the transfer portal's top point guard, started his college career at East Carolina spending two seasons with the Pirates. As a true freshman during the 2021-22 season, he played a limited role as in 16 games off the bench he averaged just 9.2 minutes of playing time in which he averaged 2.0 points per game. His role began to increase as a sophom*ore as in the 18 games he played in, he started 17 and averaged 15.8 points per game, 4.8 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.2 steals while shooting 39.7 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from three. This past season, Small played in the Big 12 at Oklahoma State and started all 31 games for the Cowboys in which he averaged 15.1 points per game, 4.7 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.0 steals while shooting 44.1 percent from the field, 37.4 percent from three and 86.6 percent from the free throw line. The Cats' Pause can confirm Pope and UK has made contact with Small. He is the cousin of former Wildcat Antonio Reeves.

Coles is a 6-foot-7 forward from Denton,Texas, who started his college career at Butler. As a true freshman with the Bulldogs during the 2020-21 season, Coles played in just six games. After the season, he hit the transfer portal and landed back in his home state of Texas with TCU. In his debut season with the Horned Frogs of 2021-22, Coles played in 34 games off the bench averaging 2.7 points per game, 1.9 rebounds while shooting 39.9 percent from the field and 28.2 percent from three. As a junior during the 2022-23 season, he played in 35 games and made one start for a TCU team that earned a No. 6 seed in the NCAA Tournament and reached the Round of 32. He averaged 8.6 points per game, 4.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists while shooting 47.6 percent from the field and 32.4 percent from three. This past season he helped TCU earn a No. 9 seed in the NCAA Tournament playing in 31 games and starting 11. In an average of 20.5 minutes of playing time, Coles averaged a career-high 10.0 points per game, 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists while shooting 49.0 percent from the field, a career-best 42.2 percent from three and 77.2 percent from the free throw line.

A 5-foot-11 guard from Columbus, New Jersey, Coit averaged 30.6 points per game in 2021-22 at Atlantic Cape Community College in Landing, New Jersey, leading the nation in scoring at the NJCAA Division III level. He added 5.2 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game and was named the Garden State Athletic Conference Player of the Year. He transferred to Northern Illinois ahead of the 2022-23 season. In his debut season with the Huskies, averaged 15.5 points per game, 2.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.2 steals while shooting 42.9 percent from the field and 37.7 percent from three. The year earned him Third Team All-MAC honors. This past season, Coit ranked 24th in the country ranking 20.8 points per game, added 3.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 0.9 steals per game. He shot 40.7 percent from the field, 33.7 from three and 88.5 percent from the charity stripe. Coit once again earned Third-Team All-MAC honors. He scored 37 points in a victory over Buffalo this past season, 34 in a victory over DePaul, and 35 in a loss to eventual MAC champion and NCAA Tournament qualifier Akron.

What to know:Per a report from On3's Jacob PolacheckKentuckyhas contacted the formerMcDonald's All-American.A Carmichael, Californianative and son of longtime NBA small forward Peja Stojakovic, Andrej picked up an offer out of high school from Kentucky, but the then five-star prospect and 2023 McDonald's All-American opted to sign with Stanford. As a freshman with the Cardinal last season he averaged 7.8 points per game, 3.4 rebounds and 0.9 assists while shooting 40.9 percent from the field, 33.7 percent from three and 52.8 percent from the free throw line. He played in all 32 games for Stanford and started 10. He was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week on Dec. 18 following a Dec. 17 performance that saw him score 17 points, shoot 7-for-11 from the field, 3-for-6 from three, add four rebounds and two assists in a win over Idaho. The 6-foot-7 guard/forward scored a season-high 20 points in a 99-68 home win over USC. He also grabbed six rebounds and dished three assists in the Feb. 10 victory over the Trojans. Stojakovic is in the portal following the firing of head coach Jerod Haaseafter eight seasons.

On the year, he averaged 4.8 points per game, 2.1 rebounds and 1.2 steals while shooting 44.3 percent from three and 25.0 percent from three. This past season, Oweh played in 32 games starting 28 and logging an average of 24.8 minutes per game. He averaged 11.4 points per game, 3.8 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 1.0 assists per game.
