Inmate Visitation

If you wish to visit with an inmate in our facility, you will need to sign up through a third-party provider.  All visits are done via video chat. You will need a computer or other Internet-enabled device that has a speaker, camera, and high-speed Internet connection.

To set up an account and schedule a visit:

Go to inmatesales.com.

Create an account or log into your existing account.
Select “Schedule/Purchase Visitation”.
Choose our facility (Gibson County Indiana) and the remote visit option.
Enter your personal information.
Purchase minutes.
Schedule your visit.

If you are using an iPhone, download the “Inmate Sales” app through the app store.

For Windows, Mac, or Android devices, use the Google Chrome web browser.

Bond Information

You can bond inmates out 24/7 by visiting the lobby of the jail and pressing the silver intercom box to speak with a jailer.  Bond can be made by cash (exact change only), or by credit card.  There are additional surcharges when using a credit card. You can also process a credit card bond by visiting the following link:

CLASS D FELONY   $7500.00  $750.00
CLASS A MISDEMEANOR  $6500.00  $650.00

CLASS C MISDEMEANOR  $4500.00  $450.00

The bond shall be based on each charge filed against a Defendant. For example, a Defendant charged with OWI (Class A Misdemeanor) and Resisting Law Enforcement (Class A Misdemeanor) shall post either a bail bond (commonly called a surety bond) in the amount of $13,000.00 or the 10% cash alternative in the amount of $1,300.00.  

The above schedule applies when there is no arrest warrant and is subject to modification only upon order of the Judge of the Superior or Circuit Court. When an arrest warrant is issued the above schedule will not apply as the full bail bond (surety bond) or the cash bond alternative (normally 10% of the full bond) will be listed on the warrant. If an individual is arrested for a Class A, B, or C Felony, bond will be set by the judge.  

No Defendant shall be released on bond unless there is a signed promise to appear properly filled out by the Clerk’s Office or the Sheriff’s Office.

OUT-OF-STATE BOND DOUBLED An individual with an out-of-state license or address shall post double the amount of bond as calculated pursuant to this schedule.

Commissary Information

You now have more ways to leave money for an inmate. You can leave cash or swipe a debit/credit card in a kiosk in our lobby or Visit Tiger Correctional Services to add funds online. There is a $200 limit on cash transactions and a $150 limit on debit/credit transactions.

You can also leave money online or even buy certain items for an inmate!

– Select Web Deposits to add money to an inmate account.
– Select Commissary Ordering to order specific items for an inmate.
– Select the inmate you want to leave money for or purchase items.

Phone Cards & Inmate Texting Information

Phone & Inmate texting/chirping time can be added to inmate accounts through a kiosk in our lobby, or by going through the Inmate Sales website.

Note that you need to select GIBSON COUNTY JAIL INDIANA on the inmate sales site.

For texting (Chirping), Inmates rent the devices for $4 each month and are charged 10 cents per incoming and outgoing text.  No pictures or emojis are allowed – just plain text.

All these charges are taken from their chirping account.

Gibson County Jail Information

The Corrections Division of the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office maintains the efficient, safe operation of the Gibson County Jail.

The Gibson County Jail takes security seriously. A total of over 100 video cameras continuously monitor all activity within the jail and work release facilities 24 hours a day. All doors and lights are controlled from within the Communications Center. These are connected to a large diesel-powered generator and a computer UPS power supply system that ensures the safe operation of the jail in the event of a power outage.

The Gibson County Jail is one of only 10 jails in the state of Indiana that is accredited by the National Commission on Correctional Health Care. In October 1997, the entire facility became a tobacco product-free facility.

Attorney Visitation
Attorney visitation hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. In the event a visit is needed outside normal business hours, prior arrangements must be made by 2:00 PM on the date of the visit.

The safety of our employees, visitors, inmates, and overall security of the jail is our utmost concern. After-hours visits, without prior arrangements made, are a safety issue and will no longer be permitted. No cameras, video equipment, or cellular phones are allowed in the jail and will be strictly enforced.

New Jail Construction

This new building will include the County Jail, Sheriff’s Office, and 911 Dispatch Center. The construction site is located along E Brumfield Ave., directly behind the existing jail.
